This chapter focuses on the adoption of omics-based techniques such as genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics to stimulate research interest in model plants and agriculturally important crops through tissue culture. In the past few years, omics technology has shown tremendous potential in the field of plant tissue culture. Advancement in plant biology using high-throughput molecular tools has offered several exciting opportunities to gain new insight towards mechanisms controlling growth and developmental processes.
